My name is Darwin, and I am a senior in Leverett House, studying Economics and Human Biology, Behavior, and Evolution. I have experience woodcarving, and am interested in building machines that are relevant and functional, but may be modeled after retro ones. I think that it would also be very fun to just make things that increase the amount of effort you have to exert to use them, not for the sake of inconvenience but for the sake of thinking how we value convenience, time, and focus. I am also curious about the interfaces that humans use to interact with machines, and whether the satisfaction of physical feedback from interaction (button presses, lever pulls) is king. I am hoping to investigate sound, computer vision, and other interfaces to see if they create novel experiences.
